Welcome to the 2009-10season!

The Nippers Sign On & Competency Assessment (Pool Swim) will be held at Oasis Pools (adjacent to Club Banora) Leisure Drive, Banora Point NSW on Sunday 4th October 2009 at 9.00am.

The Table Below is the minimum requirement from

Surf Life Saving Queensland.

Under 6           

    Kick on wall with face in the water                

    30 Second Float

Under 7

    Torpedo (push off wall) with face in the water        

    30 Second Float

Under 8           

    25 metre swim (any stroke)                          

    1 minute survival float

Under 9            

    25 metre swim (any stroke)                          

    1 minute survival float

Under 10           

    25 metre swim (any stroke)                          

    1.5 minute survival float

Under 11          

    25 metre swim (freestyle)                            

    2 minute survival float

Under 12          

    100 metre swim (freestyle)                           

    2 minute survival float

Under 13          

    150 metre swim (freestyle)                           

    3 minute survival float

Under 14          

    200 metre swim (freestyle,                          

    3 minute survival float in less than 5 minutes)

N.B.  If you are unable to make the pool swim and you have a pool or club swim coach you can have them sign off the competency assessment.  Please contact Surf Club Office Administration for the necessary form for the swim coach to use.

Ø      Nippers starts Sunday 11th October 2009 at 9:00am and finishes at 11:00am at North Kirra SLSC.

Ø      A BBQ always follows the activities on the beach and all money raised is used for the Juniors. It also gives everyone a chance to mingle, relax and feed the kids before heading home!
