Our Club

North Kirra Surf Life Saving Club

We have a proud history dating back to 1949 when the Club was formed. The primary role of the Volunteer members is to keep the North Kirra beach safe for all to enjoy. The club is made up of a number of groups, starting with our young nippers, our young adults in cadets our senior club, the Master's Group, our Old Boys and Gals and our Life Members. For those who just want to support our club and enjoy our facilities we have the Social Club often seen in their support role in the Supporters Club and part of Deck 49. However in keeping the Red and Yellow flags flying on our beach we also need sponsors. We are fortunate enough to have a special group of individuals and companies that support us and to those we are continually grateful.

Below is a brief introduction of some of the activities and programs we have to offer our members:-

Nippers is an exciting program for children form 5 to 14 years of age. We have a great program of skills training, competitions or just having fun with your mates at our wonderful beach

North Kirra Surf Life Saving Nippers Club aims to develop essential life skills in children through participation in junior surf life saving activities and education. We encourage team work through sport with the long term objective of our children being part of a group of volunteers who give up their time to protect and save lives on Queensland beaches.?

Cadets - 15 to 18 years

We have kicked off 2008/09 season training for our cadets. We will be building on the pre season training to offer our valued young club members a program of surf fitness and social events.

Our coach Rick has commenced the season training and all senior cadet junior and nipper members are welcome to join in.

Seniors

Seniors are the back bone of our club. Keeping our beach safe for bathers and beach goers. We have a team of active seniors who have gained valuable skills, Bronze Medallion, First Aid, Advanced Resusitation, IRB drivers and crewman. Our seniors are encourgared to support our nipper program and many of them assist on a Sunday morning with Water Safety duties or passing on their skills to our up and coming next generation of life savers.

Some of our seniors compete in surf sports canivals including some of our older members competing in the masters catagories.

Our training programs, run by our new coach are available to our senior club members. We run a program of new skills training courses for new members to gain their profficiencies or seniors who want to up skill there exisiting levels.

Social Club

Our social club or Supporters Association is there to help keep our members on the beach. Our supporters Assoc operates our upstairs bar and bistro. Members guest and Visitors are always welcome.
